USMNT Three-Year Path to World Cup 2026
With the announcement out of CONCACAF today regarding the Gold Cup, Nations League, and Copa America dates and structures – the USMNT schedule for the next three years leading up to World Cup 2026 just got much clearer.
March 2023 – CONCACAF Nations League Group Stage
March 24 – at Grenada
March 27 – vs El Salvador in Orlando
The USMNT needs at least a win and a tie to advance to the CONCACAF Nations League semifinals.
April 19, 2023 – Friendly
April 19 – vs Mexico in Phoenix

June 15 and 18, 2023 – CONCACAF Nations League Semifinals and Final
Reports that the Las Vegas Convention and Visitors Authority agreed to spend $1 million to sponsor four CONCACAF matches in June have fueled rumors that these matches will take place in Sin City. Read More
June 16-July 16, 2023 – Gold Cup
The Gold Cup Draw is set for April 14; no creditable rumors have surfaced regarding venues for the USMNT Group Stage or Quarterfinal matches.
This week the San Diego Union-Tribune reported that one Gold Cup semifinal would be played at Snapdragon Stadium on July 12. CONCACAF will likely direct the USMNT path there, as Mexico will probably play their semifinal in a large NFL stadium. Read More

September 4-12 and October 9–17, 2023 – FIFA Match Windows
If the USMNT remains one of the top four FIFA-ranked CONCACAF teams, they will not play CONCACAF Nations League Group games but two friendlies during each FIFA match window. November 13-21, 2023 - CONCACAF Nations League Quarterfinals
USMNT will play home and away against one of the CONCACAF Nations League Group Stage qualifying teams. The winner advances to the CONCACAF semifinals and qualifies for Copa America 2024.
March 18-26, 2024 - CONCACAF Nations League Semifinals and Final
If the USMNT win the home and away quarterfinal in November 2023, they will play in the CONCACAF Nations League Semifinals/Finals. If not, they will play a single elimination Copa America 2024 qualifier against another CONCACAF team that loses their November quarterfinal.
June 14-July 14, 2024 – Copa America
The tournament will feature 6 CONCACAF and 10 CONMEBOL teams hosted in the United States.
September and October 2024 - FIFA Match Windows
Once again, if the USMNT remains one of the top four FIFA-ranked CONCACAF teams, they will play two friendlies during each FIFA window.
November 2024 - CONCACAF Nations League Quarterfinal
USMNT will play another home and away CONCACAF Nations League quarterfinal.
March 2025 - CONCACAF Nations League Semifinals and Final
With a victory in November, the USMNT would reach the CONCACAF Nations League semifinals/final.
June- July 2025 – Gold Cup
The Gold Cup is set to expand to 24 teams and include teams from all FIFA Confederations in 2025.
